14 Innovative financing: results-based financing and cash transfers

Norway will continue to look for innovative ways of providing aid. Results-based financing, where a contract is entered into and funding is not transferred until the terms of the contract have been fulfilled, is a key tool in this respect. Norway has successfully tried out this approach in the field of global health, in particular maternal and child health, and in the International Climate and Forest Initiative.

Cash transfers have proved to be a useful tool both in humanitarian situations and in situations where it would otherwise be difficult to reach those in need. We will increase the use of cash transfers.
