Regulations relating to amendments to the Regulations of 15 March 2020 No. 293 relating to rejection etc. of foreign nationals without a residence permit in the realm, out of concern for public health

In the Regulations of 15 March 2020 No. 293 relating to rejection etc. of foreign nationals without a residence permit in the realm, out of concern for public health, the following amendments are made:

The title of the Regulations shall read:

Regulations relating to rejection etc. of foreign nationals out of concern for public health

New section 2b shall read:

Section 2b. Deferment of entry and rejection of foreign nationals with a residence permit

            For a foreign national granted a residence permit under the Immigration Act on or subsequent to 20 April 2020, permission to enter is to be deferred until further notice, unless the foreign national is covered by the exemptions specified in sections 2 or 2a.

            Issuance of an entry visa (see section 3-13 of the Immigration Regulations) to a foreign national requiring such visa who has been granted a residence permit shall be deferred until further notice unless the foreign national is covered by the exemptions specified in sections 2 or 2a. Issuance of an entry visa may also be deferred if revocation of the permit is under consideration.

            If a foreign national as specified in the first and second paragraph comes to the realm before being entitled to enter, an administrative decision relating to rejection may be taken. The provisions contained in the first paragraph, second and third sentences, of section 1 and in the second paragraph of section 1 apply correspondingly.

These Regulations enter into force immediately.
