Annual general meeting in Statoil

The annual general meeting in Statoil was held today.

New members to the board of directors were elected at the meeting. The board now consists of the following members:

Chairman of the board Ole Lund Vice chairman Rune Bjerke Kirsti Koch Christensen Finn A. Hvistendahl Bente Rathe Ingvar M. Sviggum Knut Åm

In addition the board has three members elected by and among the employees of Statoil. These are Lill Heidi Bakkerud, Jetfred Sellevåg and Bjørn Erik Egeland.

The general meeting also approved the annual results for 1998 as presented by the board of directors, with the exception of the dividend to the state. The dividend for 1998 was set to be 135 million NOK, in line with the dividend policy, 50 per cent of the company's profit after tax.
