Agreed minutes between ICLEI and
the Minister of the Environment of Norway
“The Chair and the Secretary General of ICLEI and the Chairman of the CSD discussed efforts to support the aims of Agenda 21 and the World Summit on Sustainable Development with the UN Commission on Sustainable Development, Norway’s Minister of the Environment Børge Brende.
They agreed that during the Norwegian chairmanship, ICLEI and Norway would cooperate closely to facilitate the CSD process. Here ICLEI will be the focal point for local government experience and all concerned will strive to highlight the relevance of local governments to meeting and exceeding the aims set by the global community.
They also agreed that the entire body of aims need to be promoted, not just for this CSD meeting, but for the longer term.”
