Regulation on general application of wage agreements

The Tariff Board has on 21 November 2006 adopted a regulation on general application of wage agreements at construction sites in Norway.

Based on a claim from the Norwegian Federation of Trade Unions (LO) the Tariff Board has decided to make parts of the Construction Agreement generally applicable for employees in at construction sites in Norway. Terms of wages and employment deriving from the regulation are minimum terms applicable for employees in the building sector, within the scope of the regulation. The regulation enters into force on 1 January 2007.

With dissenting votes 3-2 the Tariff Board decided not to make the agreements regulations on working time generally applicable. This implies that the ordinary regulations on working time in the Working Environment Act will apply.
