In today’s session of the Council of State, the King has appointed Mr. Bård Vegar Solhjell, Member of Parliament, as Minister of the Environment, Mr. Heikki Holmås, Member of Parliament, as Minister of International Development, and Ms. Inga Marte Thorkildsen, Member of Parliament, as Minister of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion.

Minister of Education Kristin Halvorsen has been charged with responsibility for the entire Ministry of Education and Research.

Minister of Environment and International Development Erik Solheim and Minister of Research and Higher Education Tora Aasland have been honourably discharged from their offices.

The changes are active as of 3 pm today.
