Government proposes maintaining allocation of NOK 85 billion in support to Ukraine in 2027

The Government will propose to the Storting (Norwegian parliament) that Norway extends its extraordinary support to Ukraine by maintaining its allocation of NOK 85 billion in 2027 as well.
‘Norway will continue to support Ukraine in its fight to defend itself. The country is facing another tough winter. We are now sending a clear message that Norway will continue to provide both civilian and military support,’ said Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
Prime Minister Støre conveyed the Government’s proposal to President Volodymyr Zelensky at a meeting in Kyiv earlier today.
‘We must stand by Ukraine and help it to rebuild. This is vital not only for Ukraine itself, but also for the security of Europe as a whole. This is why the Government is proposing that Norway maintains its extraordinary support of NOK 85 billion again next year,’ said Mr Støre.
Norway’s support to Ukraine is provided under the Nansen Support Programme for Ukraine and encompasses both military and civilian assistance.
Most of the funding will be allocated as military support, including support for procurements from the Ukrainian defence industry. The distribution of funding between military and civilian support has not yet been determined, and the Government will come back to this at a later date.
