Examinations cancelled by government

The government has decided to cancel most of the ordinary examinations scheduled for primary, lower and upper secondary school this spring.

Like last year, external examinations and certain other examinations will still go ahead if pupils have a particular need to complete their examinations. Final examinations for apprentices will also take place.

The government’s proposal to cancel examinations was sent for a consultation round on 14 February, with a deadline for comments of 20 February. The majority of the institutions invited to comment supported cancelling examinations.

Provisions have also been made for temporary adjustments to subjects and the allocation of hours of study in cases where this is necessary due to infection control measures, just as in the previous two academic years.
