Joint Statement from the Venezuela Dialogue and Negotiation Process

In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 13 August 2021 in Mexico City, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Unitary Platform of Venezuela have resumed the Venezuela Dialogue and Negotiation Process on Venezuela.

At today's session in Barbados, the parties signed a Partial Agreement on the Promotion of Political Rights and Electoral Guarantees for All, in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Agenda, referring to "Political Rights for All" and "Electoral Guarantees for All".

In addition, they signed a Partial Agreement for the Protection of the Vital Interests of the Nation, with the purpose of preserving the assets of the Republic abroad, as well as defending Venezuelan territorial integrity and national sovereignty.

Finally, they thanked the Facilitator for the Kingdom of Norway, the accompanying countries the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Russian Federation, and the host country for this fifth round, the Republic of Barbados.
