The Turkish government has approved the use of Norwegian National ID-cards for entry to Turkey until the end of 2022. Norwegian citizens will therefore as of 22 June 2022 be able to travel to Turkey with the use of a National ID-card instead of a passport.

The journey from Norway to Turkey must be made by direct flight. The Norwegian National ID-cards are not approved as travel documents outside the EU/EEA. The ID-card must also be valid for a period of minimum 6 months after entrance. The return to Norway must be made before the end of 2022, as this temporary Turkish arrangement ends on 31 December 2022.
