STAMI is a research institute under the ministry. It constitutes a multidisciplinary knowledge environment with expertise in medicine, physiology, chemistry, biology, psychology, and other fields. The institute addresses all parts of Norwegian working life, mapping environmental and health conditions, assessing hazards, and proposing preventive measures in workplaces.
