KORO – Public Art Norway

KORO - Public Art Norway is the Norwegian government’s professional body for art in public spaces, and is a subordinate governmental agency under the Ministry of Culture and Equality.

The agency produces and finances art in public spaces throughout Norway and at Norwegian consulates and embassies abroad. They produce art projects in state-owned buildings and provide commissions and development opportunities for the field. KORO is also a close collaborator with Statsbygg, Forsvarsbygg, and other governmental institutions.

In addition, KORO administers two art schemes: for leased buildings and older state-owned buildings, and a Local Communities Programme mainly for municipalities, county councils, artists and curators. KORO also provides advisory services to stakeholders across the country.

The most extensive project for KORO in the years to come will be the art project for the new government quarter in Oslo.
