Children who arrive in Norway must be offered quality education within three months. The municipalities have an obligation to offer education as quickly as possible, nonetheless. This means that the municipalities must start offering children a place in school, regardless of whether all formalities are in order.

Ministry now to use the name ‘Belarus’ in Norwegian

From this point forward, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will use the name ‘Belarus’ instead of ‘Hviterussland’ when referring in Norwegian to the Eastern European country. The decision to change the name used in Norwegian takes effect on the International Day of Solidarity with Belarus.
