Ministry of Justice and Public Security (2012–)

The Ministry of Justice and Public Security is responsible for the preservation and development of basic guarantees of the rule of law.

On 1 January 2012, the Ministry of Justice and the Police had its name changed to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.

On 16 December 2015, responsibility for immigration affairs in the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, and for integration affairs in the Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion, was transferred to an additional minister in the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. On 1 April 2016 integration affairs were transferred to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security from the Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion. The Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion now had its name changed to the Ministry of Children and Equality, listed here as the Ministry of Children and Equality (of 2016).

On 20 March 2018, the system of an additional minister for immigration and integration affairs in the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, was abolished.

On 21 January 2019, responsibility for public security and polar affairs was transferred to an additional minister in the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. At the same time, responsibility for integration affairs in the Ministry of Justice and Public Security was transferred to the minister responsible for the Ministry of Education and Research. On 3 May 2019, integration affairs were transferred to the Ministry of Education and Research.
