Peace and conflict resolution
Norway has been engaged in various peace processes for decades. Promoting conflict resolution and reconciliation is a key component of Norwegian foreign policy. It is in Norway’s interests to work to achieve a peaceful world. Norway also considers it important to seek to prevent and alleviate the human suffering caused by conflict. The support Norway provides to encourage parties to conflict to seek political solutions costs relatively little compared with military interventions and the high price of armed conflict.
