Secretary to Norway's Council of State

1814 -

The office as Secretary to the Norwegian Council of State and chief of the Council of State Secretariat is the continuation of the office as Secretary to the Regency in 1814 and as State Secretary 1814-1925. The task has since 1969 ben handeled by the administrative head of the Office of the Prime Minister - the Government Secretary.

Since 1947 the title state secretary has been used for the posts as political collaborators to the prime minister and the ministers.

On 27 June 1969 the tasks of the office of the Secretary to the Council of State were transferred to the office of the director general for legal and administrative affairs at the Office of the Prime Minister.
