Requirements to precious metals applies to the manufacturing, marketing and sale of goods of precious metals and goods made up of precious metals and other materials.
Main requirements
Goods of precious metals must be applied a hallmark which states the degree of fineness of the amount of gold, silver or platinum in thousandths alloy, and a responsibility mark which identifies the responsible for the fineness of the goods. Only certain fineness standards are allowed to apply to the goods.
The responsibility mark must be registered at the Norwegian Industrial Property office unless the goods are imported from another EEA member state.
