    Public Roads Section

    The Public Roads Section has the responsibility for financing, planning, construction, operation and maintenance of our national roads and national road ferries. The section has the overall responsibility for the agency management of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and the Road Supervisory Authority. It is the Public Roads Section that enters into and follows up the development agreements with Nye Veier AS (New Roads Corporation). .

    Furthermore, the section has responsibility for the administration and development of the Road Act and parts of the Professional Transport Act. The section has extensive cooperation with other ministries, agencies and enterprises and is part of the Department of Public Roads, Urban Mobility and Traffic Safety.
