Public procurement

The Public Procurement Unit oversees the regulations on public procurement, i.e. the Public Procurement Act, the Public Procurement Regulation, the Utilities Regulation and the Concession Contract Regulation.

The regulations promote the efficient use of public resources and contribute to integrity in public authorities. The Unit oversees that appropriate regulation is in place, and that the rules are in line with Norway's international obligations. In addition, the Unit provides guidance on the legal understanding of the rules. The Unit advices on policy development in the procurement area. Furthermore, it oversees the Procurement Department in the Agency for Public Management and eGovernment (Difi). Difi shall facilitate efficient and sustainable public procurement, provide practical guidance and work to increase  competence on public procurement in the public sector.
