Ministry of Local Government and Labour (of 1948) (1948–1990)

The Ministry of Local Government and Labour (of 1948) was established on 20 December 1948. It is listed here as the Ministry of Local Government and Labour (of 1948). Municipal affairs were transferred from the Ministry of Justice and the Police, labour and labour market affairs from the Ministry of Social Affairs (of 1916).

On 2 November 1989, responsibility for labour affairs in the Ministry of Local Government and Labour (of 1948) was transferred to an additional minister in the Ministry of Government Administration and Consumer Affairs. This minister was also given responsibility for government administration affairs in the Ministry of Government Administration and Consumer Affairs. On 1 January 1990, government administration and labour affairs were transferred to the new Ministry of Government Administration and Labour (of 1990), while housing affairs were transferred to the Ministry of Government Administration and Consumer Affairs. The Ministry of Local Government and Labour (of 1948) now had its name changed to the Ministry of Local Government. The Ministry of Government Administration and Consumer Affairs had its name changed to the Ministry of Family and Consumer Afffairs, listed here as the Ministry of Family and Consumer Affairs (of 1990).
