Jens Stoltenberg's Second Government

Jens Stoltenberg’s Second Government was appointed by King Harald V in a session of the Council of State on 17 October 2005, effective as of the same day at 1 p.m. It succeded Kjell Magne Bondevik’s Second Government, after general elections on 12 September 2005 had rendered a majority in the Storting for a change of government.

In a session of the Council of State on 14 October 2013, Jens Stoltenberg's Second Government handed in its resignation, as general elections on 9 September 2013 had rendered a majority in the Storting for a change of government. Permission to leave was granted by King Harald V in a session of the Council of State on 16 October 2013, effective as of the same day at 12 noon. At the same time, Erna Solberg's Government was appointed, effective as of the same point of time.
