Dear Mr President

On behalf of the Norwegian Government, I would like to congratulate you on your inauguration as State President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

Norway and Viet Nam enjoy excellent bilateral relations based on successful cooperation in a wide range of areas. Our two countries share a commitment to international law, the UN Charter, a well-functioning multilateral system, and rules-based international trade. We look forward to further strengthening our cooperation, particularly in the efforts to promote the green transition.

Norway is eagerly awaiting the conclusion of negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between the EFTA states (European Free Trade Association) and Viet Nam. We greatly appreciate Viet Nam’s work in hosting the recent negotiation rounds, and hope that the negotiations can be completed in time for an announcement in June this year.

I am confident that the ties between our two countries will remain strong and look forward to working with you to further increase our joint efforts in various areas of mutual interest.
