I was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of life and widespread destruction caused by the devastating floods that struck Tibet Autonomous Region on 26 August 2026.

On behalf of the Government of Norway, I would like to express my sincere condolences to you and the Chinese people and ask you to convey my deepest sympathy to the bereaved families and all those affected by this terrible event. My thoughts are with the people of China at this difficult time.
