Regjeringen satser i nord
Forsker Torbjørn Pedersen hevder i Aftenposten 3. september at regjeringens nordområdepolitikk har blitt symbolpolitikk, og preges av ren selvoppholdelse. Det stemmer ikke. Nordområdene er fortsatt Norges viktigste strategiske ansvarsområde.

EØS-avtalen sikrer norske arbeidsplasser
I VG 26. juli skriver Senterpartiets Sigbjørn Gjelsvik at grunnen til at Sveits ikke ble unntatt EUs beskyttelsestiltak for stål mens EØS-landene Norge, Liechtenstein og Island ble det, ikke skyldes EØS (som Sveits ikke er med i) men at Sveits gjorde dårlig påvirkningsarbeid overfor EU. Dette er en oppfinnsom feiltolkning selv til å komme fra Senterpartiet.

Verneområder i Antarktis – havnasjonen Norge er ombord
Greenpeace beskylder regjeringen for å blokkere viktige verneprosesser i Antarktis. Påstanden er grunnløs og argumentene er både feilaktige og usaklige. For mens Greenpeace harselerer med statsministerens havengasjement i Dagbladet, jobber regjeringen hardt for å komme til enighet med de andre Antarktis-landene om vernetiltak i Sørishavet. Dette gjør vi i Kommisjonen for bevaring av marine levende ressurser i Antarktis, CCAMLR.

Ilulissat-erklæringen viktig for Arktis
I dag 23. mai møtes representanter for de fem arktiske kyststatene i Ilulissat. Vi skal markere at det er ti år siden Ilulissat-erklæringen ble vedtatt. Ti år senere har de dystre spådommene enkelte hadde om Arktis ikke slått til. Arktis er preget av fred, samarbeid og respekt for folkeretten.

Vi er i dialog med Tyrkia
I en kronikk i Klassekampen 7. mai hevder Norske Pen at regjeringen er taus om utviklingen i Tyrkia. Det stemmer ikke. I tillegg til å snakke om Tyrkia, snakker vi med Tyrkia. Å snakke med noen er helt grunnleggende dersom man ønsker å bidra til positiv endring.

Fortsatt satsing på Barentssamarbeidet
Som Nordlys skriver på lederplass 15. januar, har Barentssamarbeidet vært et viktig element i norsk utenrikspolitikk i nord siden starten i 1993. Men påstanden om at regjeringen svikter dette samarbeidet, mangler forankring i de faktiske forhold.

Dagsavisens misforståelser om kjernevåpen
Regjeringen arbeider for en verden fri for atomvåpen, men veien dit må gå gjennom gjensidig, balansert og irreversibel nedrustning. Å starte med et forbud er å starte i feil ende.
